About Us
The Purpose of BILD
BILD @ EFCC stands for the Biblical Institute for Leadership Development at
BILD is designed to mentor and train Christian men and women in biblical knowledge, practical life and ministry skills and personal character development so that they may mature in fulfilling God’s purposes and provide spiritual and ministry leadership for Emmanuel Faith, other churches and local and world impact ministries.
Philosophy of Education
(1) Christ-Centered. Our mission is to honor God through Christlikeness. We believe that spiritual maturity and leadership begin and end with being like Christ.
(2) Biblical. Our vision is to biblically train the believer to full devotion to Jesus Christ. We are unreservedly committed to the inerrancy, priority and sufficiency of God's word.
(3) Based on God’s Design. Leadership development involves equipping people to live competently and confidently according to God's five purposes for his church. We will train and mentor men and women toward maturity in worship, discipleship, evangelism, ministry and building a fellowship of believers.
(4) Church-Based. We believe that God's chosen instrument to build his kingdom at this point in history is the church. We will train believers to lead in church growth.
(5) Develop Leadership. Biblical leadership seeks to influence others. We will encourage believers to initiate ministries that result in spiritual growth in others.
(6) Participatory in Style. Learning will be practically oriented and personally guided. There will be an emphasis on application and mentoring.
Prerequisites
Attend the basic LifeDesign classes, Class 101, 201, 301, and 401, and be involved in living out the commitments related to God's purposes for our lives. If you have yet to attend all the classes, you are welcome to start the BILD process as long as you are committed to doing so over the next year.
Apply. This will involve an application and the identification of individuals both in your family and within your area(s) of ministry who are aware of the demands that the classes and coursework might entail.
Active. Be actively involved in one of the ministries of
Assume. As God leads, be willing to assume the responsibility for an area of ministry. This could be at Emmanuel Faith, one of our church plants, in the community or in the world. It will be reasonable for a BILD student to be asked to lead for a year or more in a particular area of ministry.
Emphases or "Tracks"
International Track: for leadership in World Impact ministry. This track is designed for men and women who are interested in reaching out past cultural differences to build the
Shepherding Track: for Small Group and discipleship leadership development. This track will develop leaders who are able to care for, protect and feed the flock of God. It will equip individuals to minister to people who are involved in home groups, adult fellowships, support groups, core groups, life stage groups, discipling relationships, small group Bible studies, etc.
Church Planting Track: for leadership in the area of church planting. This track will develop leaders who can effectively contribute to "sister church" planting efforts in our region or "culturally targeted church" planting efforts elsewhere in the world. Not only do we seek to develop leaders who can prepare for, launch and build up new churches, but we also need those that can train others to go or take their place when they do go.
General Track: for effective leadership in and through the local church. This track will prepare leaders for service in the many and varied ministries of the local church. It will equip people to lead and train others who are in the local church as well as to reach and grow people toward Christlikeness who are in the community.
