God's Waiting Room

A ministry to the mothers of prodigals

Second and fourth Thursdays, 7-8:30 p.m., Building 10

Are you waiting for the return of a son or daughter who has headed down the prodigal path? Are your child's rebellious, foolish and destructive choices leaving you hurt, angry, frustrated, fearful, hopeless and alone? Do you need someone who understands what you are going through, someone who has felt what you feel?

Don't wait alone! Come and join us in God's Waiting Room. You will experience the care, encouragement and loving support of a group of mothers who are watching and waiting and praying together for the return of their spiritual wanderers.

This year we will learn together how to prepare ourselves for that homecoming. During the first half of the year, our discussions will be based on the book The Prodigal God by Timothy Keller. As we explore Jesus' parable in Luke 15, we will discover that God's extravagant grace is our greatest hope. And as we experience the truths in our own lives, we will change and become more and more like the "waiting father."

Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you. Joshua 3:5

Grandmothers in Touch

First and second Mondays of each month, 1-2 p.m., EC-20

Impatiens demand patience; and what better source of patient love and encouragement than a Grandmother's heart.

Nancee and her husband share 5 sons, 4 daughters-in-love and 7 grandchildren. Nancee has been involved in Moms in Touch for more than 20 years. Nancee views Grandmothers in Touch as an extension to her commitment to pray for her family and community.

Meeting for one hour, using the four steps of prayer: Praise, Confession (silent), Thanksgiving and Intercession, Grandmothers in Touch influence the lives of their grandchildren towards the reward and beauty of Christ.
