Dear Church Family,

We want you to know that the Pastors, Staff and Elders of Emmanuel Faith are aware of the growing concern surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its implications for the health of our people.

As of 3 p.m. on March 12, the San Diego Health Department has mandated that gatherings larger than 250 people should be canceled or postponed (see the link at the bottom of this page). In addition, California state officials stated that smaller events can proceed only if the organizers can implement social distancing of six feet per person.

At this time, we have made the decision that the best course of action for our church and our community is to cancel all events on our campus, including Worship Services until further notice). Our services will be online, and as many groups as possible are encouraged to still meet for connection online in some capacity.

This was a very difficult decision to make and one that we did not come to lightly. As much as we are going to greatly miss meeting together, we will still be united in prayer. We will continue to evaluate the situation as information comes out and we are committed to keeping our church body updated.

We are hopeful that as families and individuals we will all take advantage of this opportunity to spend quality time together in creative ways. Uncertain times give us as followers of Jesus the opportunity to share the hope that we have. As you have the chance to interact with people, be bold in sharing the hope you have in Jesus and pointing people to our Savior.

We are committed to being people who are guided by faith, not by fear. We want to be guided by wisdom, not foolishness. We pray that we will live in that balance as we navigate these uncertain times. We’re also convinced that every obstacle creates an opportunity.

You can still access sermons online and The Daily Fill devotionals will continue to come to your email, as well as be posted to the devotionals page. Please keep an eye on your email inbox and our web site as we will be updating and releasing resources regularly.  Let’s continue to be the light, encourage one another, pray and spread the gospel whenever possible.

Grace + Peace,

Ryan Paulson, Lead Pastor
