MEET ERNIE MARTINEZ
Director of Neighborhood Ministries
Ernie Martinez Ernie joined the Emmanuel Faith staff as The Director of Neighborhood Ministries in October 2011. He graduated from California Baptist University, Riverside, Calif., with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Discipleship. He worked towards a Master’s of Science in Counseling while at California Baptist as well.
Ernie has a Master’s of Divinity in Pastoral Leadership and Pastoral Counseling from Golden Gate Seminary, Mill Valley, CA. Ernie has work experience as a Director of a church-based biblical counseling center, a Pastoral Counselor, an Intern Therapist in Special Ed, a Church Planter working with English dominant Latinos, a Social Worker for Santa Clara County Social Services, and a Case Manager for group homes and developmentally disabled children and teens.
Ernie is joyfully married to his junior high school sweetheart, Margie, and she is his ministry partner. They have three adult daughters and four grandchildren.
Ernie enjoys spending time with his wife, family and grandchildren, walking on the beach and experiencing the sunset, reading, gardening, watching football, attending 50’s-70’s car shows, bike riding, boating on the lake, golfing, collecting state quarters, and eating French vanilla ice cream and banana vanilla wafer pudding anytime.
