EFCC CALLS NEW LEAD PASTOR!

We’re excited to announce that 95% of EFCC's voting members affirmed the Board of Elders’ recommendation to call Ryan Paulson as EFCC's new Lead Pastor! Ryan has accepted the position and has started to work at EFCC as of August 2019.

We are so grateful to each one of you for your prayers and encouragement during this historical time of transition at Emmanuel Faith. We wait with excited anticipation to see what God has in store for our church family.

In Ryan's acceptance letter to the Elder Board he wrote:

Dear Elders of Emmanuel Faith Community Church,

It is with great joy, anticipation, and a deep sense of calling from Jesus that I am writing to officially accept the call to become the next Lead Pastor of Emmanuel Faith Community Church. The church body’s affirmation and your unanimous endorsement have created a sense of excitement in our family about what God has planned for us at EFCC. We are excited to be a part of helping to chart the course for future impact, growth, and helping people live in the way of Jesus with the heart of Jesus.

Over the last few weeks, I have wrestled with God. Moving our family from the beautiful life that God has graciously allowed us to build has been the most difficult decision we have made, but as I shared at a number of the town hall meetings, Jesus seems to have confirmed this call at every turn. We are doing our best to root ourselves in Him and His faithfulness to us in the past, trusting that he will continue to be faithful to us in the future as we seek to make a home and build a life in Escondido.

I am so excited for the future that God has in store for EFCC. I was struck this past weekend in regards to how big of a job this is going to be. The charge to help the church grow younger and to reach more with the good news of Jesus will not be an easy one. However, I’m excited for the challenge, the opportunity, and the ways we together will see God do immeasurably more than we could ask, dream, or imagine.

Thank you for your trust and confidence in me and the encouragement you have given me over the past few weeks. I’m a completely imperfect pastor, but I can assure you that I will do my best to stay close to Jesus, love my wife and family as well as I possibly can, and invest my heart and soul into the people of EFCC by faithfully preaching the Scriptures, leading the church, and shepherding the staff and body. I look forward to the coming months when we will grow together as brothers in the Lord; seeking His heart together and sharing our hearts with one another. Thank you for your partnership on this journey, we can’t wait to see what God does.

Grace + Peace,

Pastor Ryan Paulson
