Welcome to Church With EFCC
Here in the New Year of 2021, we’ve been in a new sermon series called (Re)Build My Life: From Rubble to Renewal. This past year has caused many aspects of our life to fall apart, but look through the lens of the book of Nehemiah, we’re discovering how Jesus can help us rebuild our lives. This is the last message in this series.
Let’s worship the Lord together. If you’re joining us on-campus, see the lyrics tab below, or CLICK HERE for a printable file (PDF) of the worship lyrics. Or follow along on-screen with us if you’re worshiping with us online.
Keep Growing …
In light of this weekend’s sermon, following are some ways that we can continue to grow in our relationship with God, both personally and in connection with others.
Life/Family Group Questions
1. What was the best birthday party you ever had?
2. What inspires and encourages you from the examples and practices of the Israelites in this passage? Is it found in their looking up, looking back, looking around and/or looking ahead? Or did God highlight something else from the text for you? Put another way, “What are the good things in this text that strengthen you as you (re)build your devotion? Why are they good for you?”
3. Conversely, what challenges you? What makes you stop and consider, “How am I doing with this?” What makes you think, “Maybe I should give more attention to that area”? Why? How can attending to this/these areas strengthen you as you (re)build your devotion?
4. This week, pick one or more of the four areas from the message and share with your group/family one thing you will do (for each of the ones you chose) so that you can better partner with God to (re)build your devotion. Then, be ready to report back next week on how things went.
“They refused to obey and were not mindful of the wonders that you performed among them, but they stiffened their neck and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But you are a God ready to forgive, gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and did not forsake them.” Nehemiah 9:17 (ESV)
