Keep Growing …

In light of this weekend’s sermon, following are some ways that we can continue to grow in our relationship with Jesus both personally and in connection with others. (To join or lead a Life Group or to access leader’s notes visit here: Life Groups Online.)

Discuss (Life Group Questions)

1. What is a recent example of a time in your life where, if you could go back and do something over, you most certainly would? Why?

2. What are some of the lessons you have learned from this parable?

3. Discuss the importance and priority of having a Spirit-empowered faith. What are some of the marks of such a faith? How does one cooperate with God to keep it so? How do you know when you’re losing focus or shifting the power source away from God to yourself?

Spiritual Practice

Using the practice of Lectio Divina, meditate on Proverbs 8:22-36.

Memory Verse

Matthew 25:13

Father, thank you for teaching us through your stories, thank you for giving us pictures through your words so our hearts and minds can understand your truth. Please allow us to prepare our hearts through the mighty power of your Spirit and with the help of your grace, so our lamps burn bright with your love and truth. Let us be ready so we can rejoice with you. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, Amen.

Think about the people God has put in your life, who comes to mind? First write their names down and commit to prayer for them. Second, call them, say hello and see how they are doing. Third, encourage them to seek Jesus this week.
