Parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard: Matthew 20:1-16

Worship Service

This week Pastor Ryan will continue in his series, “Essential Stories,” as he teaches from the Parables of Jesus. Following is a guide that will help you and your family engage in this time of worship during, following and in the week to come. We are glad you have joined us on the journey!

HOST: Welcome and Opening Prayer

Post-Service Reflection

As we conclude our time of worship, consider these questions.

Reflect: Take a moment to think about what from the passage and message impacted you most.

Share: What verses or points made an impact on you today and why?

Pray: Have one person pray a blessing over the group.

For families with young children, you can watch Pastor Ryan’s message to kids and find more Faith Kids resources here: Faith Kids

Keep Growing …

In light of this weekend’s sermon, following are some ways that we can continue to grow in our relationship with Jesus both personally and in connection with others. (To join or lead a Life Group or to access leader’s notes visit here: Life Groups Online)

Discuss (Life Group Questions)

1. What’s easier for you – to offer forgiveness or to receive forgiveness? Why?

2. What do you learn about forgiveness from the king, the first servant and the second servant? Of what you’ve learned, what seems most relevant to you in this season of your life? Why?

3. Verse 35 talks about “forgiving from the heart.” What does it mean for you to forgive someone from your heart? What are the benefits of forgiving?

Spiritual Practice

Using the practice of Lectio Divina, meditate on Psalm 103:6-14.

The Lord’s Prayer – a guide for prayer from Matthew 6:9-13

Is there someone you need to offer forgiveness to, or accept forgiveness from? What is the next step for you to take?
