Dave Korinek

Care & Counseling

Dave and his wife Diane have been blessed to be Emmanuel Faith Community Church (EFCC) members for 35 years. After teaching in EFCC’s Sunday Adult Bible Fellowships for a decade, he felt called to enroll at Bethel Seminary in San Diego and earned a Master of Divinity degree. Dave completed a pastoral internship at EFCC from 2002-2003, and then shifted his focus to spiritual care ministry. He first worked in this role as a military reserve chaplain and then later as a hospital chaplain. Since joining the EFCC staff in January 2019, Dave continues to minister in a variety of congregational care roles and also oversees our military/veterans ministry.

Dave and Diane have a passion for grand-parenting, passing the spiritual baton, and pursuing lifelong spiritual growth. Dave still loves to teach God’s Word in our adult fellowship classes each Sunday.


Stephanie Van Bruggen | Emmanuel Faith Community Church | Escondido, CA

Stephanie Van Bruggen

Assistant Preschool Director

Stephanie grew up in Huntington Beach. After getting married in March 2022, She and her husband, Nate, moved to Oceanside and are new to the San Diego area. Through God’s faithfulness and provision, Stephanie is building a life here and loving the change of environment. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal studies, and a Master’s Degree in educational leadership. Early childhood education is her passion.

In Stephanie’s free time, she enjoys going on road trips and adventures with her husband. The beach is a huge part of their lives, and they love to spend time with family and friends there. Stephanie also loves watching professional sports and closely follows hockey and football.

The Lord has brought her through 10 years of teaching in early childhood and now has opened the door to grow her career as Assistant Director of Emmanuel Faith Preschool. Stephanie absolutely loves early childhood education, and loves instilling a passion for learning and growing in children and helping them gain a strong foundation in Jesus. She also really enjoys coming along side teachers to support them and help them grow in the education field.

Jenn oversees our on-campus Cafe and food service operations.

Executive Project Specialist

Lori performs various special projects for Emmanuel Faith in her highly varied role as the Executive Project Specialist.


John Roberts

Communications Specialist

John has served many years on the Emmanuel Faith staff in various communications roles. Currently, he oversees the church's on-campus copy and printing needs, email communications, some graphics and print layout projects, and helps the website team with overall site maintenance.

An Escondido native, John graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, in 1992 with a degree in Communications (Writing). In the past, John has worked in the areas of marketing communications, promotions, and writing/editing in both the business world and in ministry. John and his wife, Sandy, live in Escondido and have two adult kids. They enjoying time together, eating out, kayaking, and traveling.

Bonnie Nichols

Women's Ministry Specialist

Bonnie Nichols serves as our Women’s Ministry Specialist. She’s passionate about women living in their God-given purpose and finding fulfillment in who God has created them to be. Being raised in a small church in the Pacific Northwest, and given opportunities to be mentored, she loved serving the Lord at a young age,

Bonnie values the multi-generational approach to ministry. On a more personal side, she and her family love road trips, surfing, riding motos, game nights, and adventure. She’s a chai tea junkie, who loves to walk, read, shop, and enjoy good food.


Liz Grenke

Preschool Assistant Director

Liz comes to Emmanuel Faith with a background in child development and early childhood education. Liz has a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Cal Poly Pomona, a master's degree in Child Development, including an Early Childhood Social-Emotional Behavior Regulation Intervention Specialist Certificate (EC-SEBRIS) from San Diego State University and a Program Director permit through the Commission of Teacher Credentialing.

Liz has been married to her husband Rian since 2014, and they have two children, Clayton and Elyse. In her spare time, Liz enjoys camping and boating with family, crafting, and laughing with family and friends.
